Arun Daniel is an actor of mixed ethnicity from West London. Arun was born in London but relocated to India at an early age, spending several years living in the foothills of the Himalayas under the tutelage of a local Yogi. During these years he found his talent for yoga and love of nature.
After moving back to London Arun discovered a strong aptitude for athletics and martial arts which he pursues to this day, ranging from Tai-Chi, Qigong, Yiquan and Wushu to climbing, swimming, running, primal movement and of course yoga. He also specialises in ancient and medieval weapons systems, including archery and sword-fighting and has dabbled in parkour which he intends to practise again.
Arun graduated with a BA in War, Peace and International Relations from the University of Reading and went on to perform with the Drama Society at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and several other productions in London until he decided to pursue acting professionally, enrolling onto East 15’s MA Acting programme from which he graduated in 2014. Arun now pursues a career on stage and screen, utilising his physical acumen for physical theatre and weapons skills for Special Action work in film.
Arun has a particular fascination with ancient history which began as a child and has spurred him on to study ancient Greek, Latin and also Egyptian Hieroglyphs – he frequently visits the British Museum (of which he is a member) to practice these skills and further indulge his curiosity of ancient civilisations and languages. Arun paid special attention to the life of Alexander the Great and the Hellenistic world, which was the focus of his dissertation at Reading. He intends to travel widely and experience first-hand the cultures of old and learn about the societies which have replaced them.
Arun has a keen interest in cooking and baking. He is also a fully qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer and has been a gardener for 8 years.
