Krishan Tandon has been living in London since 1992, gaining relevant experience in theatre and film production. With a good knowledge of Hindi, Punjabi and an elementary proficiency in Urdu, at the beginning of his career, he’s been involved in several Indian TV channels, where he worked as an announcer and compare and as a director for the Indian Film Divisions, telefilms, serials, feature films and live commentary.
Krishan Tandon’s main job and experience is in theatre though, where he’s been working for 35 years acting in about 50 Plays on stage in India with renowned theatre personalities i.e. Mr Habeeb Tanvir, Ibrahim Alqazi, Nadira Zahir Babbar (actor Raj Babbar’s wife) Late veteran actor Om Shiv Puri and many more.
He acted in full-length English play titled ‘YOURS KRISHNA MENON’, based on Mr Krishna Menon (First Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom after Independence.) where he played the main (Krishna Menon’s) role.
He has also worked as a Theatre Manager in Trade Fair Authority of India (Delhi) for 7 years and made announcements from the Control room for the Organisation. “In 2001, I started my own cultural organisation named “Sakshi Arts” and produced thirty shows in Hindi and Punjabi dramas in London. Krishan Tandon has experience of performing and being part of various cultural and Sahitiyak programmes at Nehru Centre. (Cultural Wing of Indian High Commission.)
He can do voice over for commercials and he has experience working for the British Heart Foundation, Learn Direct & BUPA, (being also a model for their magazines) Speak, Foreign Versions, Foreign Voices, VSI, Big Word and Media Reach agencies.
In November 2012, he’s been performing for a long film for NHS, based on Bowel Cancer in three languages: English, Urdu and Gujarati.
“Three years ago I produced my own telefilm with my own organisation called ‘SAKSHI ARTS’ directed by Harshjit Thakkar of Eye TV and funded by Southscreen and London Film Commission. I also produced and directed two stage plays ‘HONEYMOON’ & TALAASH…(The Mirage) and did 30 shows in and around London. Finally, I also produced and Directed a one-act play based on a story ‘Vaapsi’ written by Tejender Sharma: it was grat fun”
Krishan Tandon has been recently part of a Bollywood film called ‘SHAANDAAR’, produced by Mr Karan Johar and Directed by Mr.Vikas Behl, shot between UK, Poland and Mumbai in October-December 2014.
