Never wanting to be far from a stage and the feeling of performing, he was in as many shows as he could be throughout school and the sixth form – being the go-to guy for the school plays; he played Tevyé in A Fiddler on the Roof, and Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls.
Michael Hutchinson was involved in as much drama as he could outside of school as well; playing Friar Lawrence in a production of Romeo & Juliet, going to Liverpool with a group for the European Capital of Culture in 2008 with a pantomime version of A Much Ado About Nothing, and joining Diamond School of Performing Arts at 14 to do drama at the weekends as well as taking up hip-hop dance later on.
Michael Hutchinson attended the University of Lincoln in 2010 where he studies Games Computing.
Attending a technical course, he aimed to get a well-paid supportive job upon completing his degree that could help him support a career in acting. Despite this, he never strayed far from drama – joining the Drama Society and becoming the Stage Manager during his second year, along with the Comedy Society, doing stand-up comedy and sketch shows. He also got involved in many student films and TV projects, and a variety show where he debuted his renowned Comedy Interpretive Mime act.

During the summers away from the university, Michael Hutchinson performed in 3 shows at Milton Keynes Theatre – one of the largest theatres outside of London – appearing as Diesel in West Side Story, Benny Southstreet in Guys & Dolls, and Coach Dunbar in Footloose.

Michael Hutchinson has now since finished university, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Games Computing with Honours. He appeared in 4 shows in 2014, starring as the Teen Angel in Grease in June as well as a run of Rapunzel the pantomime over Christmas, both with MKAOS at Stantonbury Theatre.
Michael Hutchinson also attended TVI Actors Studio in New York in July for 3 weeks to further his studies and work with top US casting directors and agents.
