Originally from Kent, Nathan Allenby received his actor’s training under Dr. Adrian James and graduated from The East 15 Acting School with a BA in Acting & Community Theatre in 2015. Nathan has also been trained in street theatre, clowning, puppetry, commedia dell’arte, forum theatre, site-responsive theatre and immersive theatre.
“As an artist, I’m constantly making new discoveries within myself and about theatre as a whole in my practice. Whilst I grow as an actor and performer and take new journeys with each new character I develop, I believe it’s my responsibility to ensure that my audiences – be it in theatre, on the screen or in a public space – go through that journey with me.”
Keen to integrate the arts into local communities, Nathan is also a drama facilitator. He has worked with disabled young people, elders and homeless people in numerous workshops:
“I believe that by using artistic processes, disadvantaged people are given the opportunity to utilise their creative skills, both benefiting their respective communities and the arts.”
Nathan’s credits include working for RIFT, Cocoloco, Generik Vapeur, GLYPT and performing Playback theatre at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
